5 Ways to get Happy in 2 mins or less

Have you ever woken up “on the wrong side of the bed” where you just felt low?. Then you get up, stub your toe and spill your tea on your suit. This feeling can stick with you for the whole day, like your own personal rain cloud, if you let it. Considering our emotions have a big impact on our overall wellbeing, and productivity, it’s worth taking a few minutes to shift into a better mood, and get happy to have a great day.

Here are 5 FUN ways to get happy in 2 minutes or less:

  1. Do a FUN prayer. This is easy- literally jump around saying “fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!” You can move your arms around. Be silly. Be playful. This short spurt of exercise helps to release endorphins which are the body’s natural “feel good” chemical, boosting your mood naturally.

  2. Rampage of Appreciation. This is a concept taught by Esther Hicks through the teachings of Abraham. Think of something that you like and imagine having a chance to tell it how much you appreciate it. It could be an ‘ode to your coffee maker, kind of like this:

    • Oh coffee maker, how much I appreciate you. You create this delicious rocket fuel for me every morning that sets the tone for me to have a fantastic day. You always prepare my coffee so perfectly, so piping hot. I really appreciate how effortless you make my morning routine. You are such an important part of my kitchen and my life.”

Sure, it sounds silly, but it does get you into a state of appreciation which feels really

good and uplifts you.

  1. Make funny faces at yourself in the mirror. This strategy can helps you let out some of your frustration and you look so ridiculous, that you can’t help but giggle.

  2. Sing an I LOVE MYSELF song. This is about taking a moment to just appreciate yourself and your many good qualities, and give a shout out to yourself about how awesome your really are. You get to write the lyrics, so you’ll know it will be good!

  3. Look in your Love Box. Keep a pretty love box where you put special mementoes and pictures. When you need a little pick-me-up, open up my love box and get reminded of how much you’re loved.
