How to Adjust to Changes in Life
“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
― George Bernard Shaw
The essence of life lies in the fact that it is perpetually moving. We often quote that “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”, which (quite rightly) makes us believe that people have different perspectives, different habits and different outlooks, and thus they see things differently.
Life is a special journey which teaches a lesson at every phase and turn. Most of us believe that books are the best companion during the journey of life and make us learn a way of life. Books, undoubtedly, make a mind resourceful and make one capable of comprehending situations in a better way; but their approach is idealist in nature. As life moves on, we start incorporating a change within us which is moving from the idealist conventional approach towards life to a more realistic and rational approach; which is learnt through other external sources.
How to adjust to changes in life
Our brain is not only a collection of neurons and a cluttered network of nerves, but a structure made up of rational and emotional perspectives. When we move in life from one phase to another, changes happen, and these changes root in our mind. The mind is the reflection of the expressions of the body, which are the reflection of a person’s habits and characteristics.
Change is the only constant, we say, and thus the brain is also capable of processing a number of changes and storing a huge database of these changes and the moments related to these changes. But we seldom know how to trigger these changes and make a life worthy of everything; about how to make our brain function for things capable of making life better. The answer to these questions lies in the fact that the brain should always be given food and fodder to keep the neurons working and open up new horizons to reach.
How to adjust to changes in life?, well Alan Watts states “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it and join the dance”
I agree, when we start to really dive into our life experiences with insight, humility and start to walk a path that uncovers more and more about ourselves. We then begin to accumilate foreknowledge and intuitive instruction. When this is honed, we navigate life from a clearer perspective based on wisdom.
In taking this path we fully accept change as a valuable, devine constant. Therefore we respect it and learn to appreaciate its nature. Whether it's beautiful or painful, we see change as positive, a delivery of growth and expansion. A way of the source of life forcing us into choice and action. Presenting us with friendly resistance that applies pressure to the areas of our life that require stretching and evolving.
The truth is, we absolutely need change in life for growth, expansion and evolution. Change is the vital key ingredient in becoming our greatest version and all that we can become.
